Thorlabs的Vytran光纖熔接機用于標準光纖、大直徑光纖和特種光纖,利用加熱絲熔融技術來對包層直徑125 μm - 1.25 mm的光纖進行高質量熔接。 該系統由一個基于加熱絲的加熱器、一個步進電機運動控制系統、一個光纖成像系統和一臺臺式電腦組成。它能夠對標準光纖、保偏光纖、光子晶體光纖、非圓形光纖和其它特種光纖進行熔接。此外,該系統能夠對光纖纖芯進行熱膨脹,并創造模場適配器。
